With a diverse teaching background across public school districts, university, and museum contexts both in the U.S. and abroad, my academic career is centered on fostering inclusive, critical, and dynamic learning environments. I hold degrees from NYU, USC, CCNY, and recently completed my doctorate at Teachers College, Columbia University, where my award-winning dissertation explored the transformative potential of arts integration in promoting equity and disrupting traditional educational narratives.
I have taught at institutions such as Teachers College, Columbia University, CUNY Hunter College, and Marymount Manhattan College, working with both pre-service teachers and teacher-practitioners. My courses have focused on empowering students to critically engage with multimodal texts, spaces, others, and their own identities. These courses emphasize multicultural literacy strategies, curriculum design, and interdisciplinary learning—all grounded in culturally sustaining pedagogy.
In addition to my university teaching, I have delivered professional development workshops for educators and designed arts-based curricula that support social justice and cultural awareness in and outside of the classroom. My teaching philosophy prioritizes creativity, critical inquiry, and the reimagining of educational spaces to make learning accessible and engaging for all students.
