Museum Education

Museum Education

As an educator with significant experience in museum education, I have developed and led numerous arts-based programs and educational initiatives. At the Whitney Museum of American Art, where I served as a Joan Tisch Teaching Fellow, I delivered over 300 arts-based lectures, engaging diverse audiences in object-based conversations that fostered critical thinking and cultural awareness. My work emphasizes multicultural perspectives and uses the arts to promote social justice and creativity.

While participating in the Studio Museum in Harlem Institute’s Museum Education Practicum, I designed a curriculum focused on Black women artists, in pursuit of deepening the representation of marginalized voices in museum education. This curriculum aimed to broaden the cultural narratives presented in museum settings and encouraged participants to critically engage with art through an intersectional lens.

As part of my international experience, as a graduate intern at the Peggy Guggenheim Museum in Venice, Italy, where I supported the Visitor Services and Education Departments. My responsibilities included engaging visitors, providing guided tours, delivering presentations on Peggy Guggenheim’s life and collection, and facilitating workshops for children. I also had the opportunity to participate in seminars, educational trips, and lectures designed to foster professional and academic growth.

My museum education work reflects my broader commitment to arts integration and culturally sustaining pedagogy, using the power of art to create inclusive, transformative learning experiences for students, educators, and the broader public.
